Imperial War Museum Training

I took part in a very memorable session today at the Imperial War Museum North. Trainers, Jo Dover and John Kabia, from the Tim Parry Johnathan Ball Foundation for Peace ran a session for IWM staff to help them deal with visitors who become distressed whilst at the Museum.

Images, sounds, objects and films can evoke intense emotions and memories which people find difficult to cope with. Staff who deal directly with the public and those who research the stories all discussed ways to help visitors and ways to take care of themselves.

We are looking for other similar museums and tourist destinations who could benefit from similar training
