Hi Chrissie

a good tip and in a similar vein to starting a presentation with any kind of apology or excuse. I guess people are looking to induce empathy and not the sympathy that results !

I had a chat with Terry Stevens last week and we may possibly find ourselves on the same team

all the best

I quite agree and certainly multi-media is better than just a voice

My real concern is that people use Powerpoint in an unthinking way.
Perhaps I should start a campaign for a more innovative use of Powerpoint. With some more creative thinking you can stand out from the crowd.

Good comment!

I think Power Point just needs to be used more effectively. Some people put too much information on the slides (and I have done this myself), some peoples presentations skills are to be desired. So for me, I think its a mix of being a good presenter and having something there for your audience to look at.

I attended a presentation skills workshop when I first started my business and the reason why I use Power Point is for a few reasons:
1: I still get nervous before speaking and sometimes forget things
2: I’m not keen on everyone looking at me most of the time, so I give them something else to look at
3: Learning styles - everyone has a different one!

Not everyone can remember everything, even if they practise so I think we need to cut a little slack and say become better at presenting and remember the slides are there for your audience to look at and for you to be reminded when you need a little help.

Thank you for the mention Chrissie.

Im really pleased you enjoyed the course. You interacted with everyone brilliantly and got a few light bulb moments for your self.

I look forward to watching you and your company's presence grow online!
